You’ve likely noticed that people drive differently in different areas of the country. People often think that the city they live in has the worst drivers. Location indeed plays a significant factor in driver safety. The major factors are location, how many miles a driver travels, and the type of car they own. You may be surprised to learn that your address can even influence how much you pay for auto insurance. So what are safe cities for drivers in 2023? What are the least safe cities? We’ll explore some driver safety rankings in the U.S. for 2023 to find out.

The 10 Most Dangerous Cities for Driving

  1. Memphis, Tennessee
  2. Albuquerque, New Mexico

U.S. News found that Memphis, Tennessee is the most dangerous city for drivers in the U.S. This data is based on the number of fatal car crashes per capita and the number of people involved in fatal car crashes per capita. Memphis is also ranked 9th in the fatality rate per 100 million vehicle miles traveled. It is also noteworthy that three Arizona cities made the list of dangerous cities for driving.
